E-bike tour: Strolling the old highways and exploring the castle town of Himeji [Includes a voucher for Himeji Station’s famous “Eki Soba”!
"Explore the Town that Supported the Castle – Without Visiting the Castle Itself." The castle town of Himeji developed around Himeji Castle, and even today you can still find traces of the lives, history, and culture that have walked side by side with the castle. This e-bike cycling tour focuses on the areas outside the outer moat of the castle town built by Lord Terumasa Ikeda. Unlike typical sightseeing routes, you’ll join a local guide to explore little-known historic landscapes such as “Nokogiri Yokocho”, where houses line up like saw teeth, and “Atemage”, winding streets intentionally designed with bends to increase defense. The tour also takes you through Teramachi, once the center of religious culture, and neighborhoods that nurtured industries such as metal casting and Buddhist altar fittings. Over the course of about three hours, you’ll ride smoothly on an e-bike (electric bicycle), experiencing the depth of Himeji not from a “tourist’s perspective” but from the perspective of local life. << Program Overview >> Dates: Available year-round (Closed on Wednesdays) Location: Around Himeji Station – Himeji City – Himeji Castle area Meeting point and tour start: Act Co., Ltd.
